LONDON MITHRAEUM

Tucked more than 20 feet below an ordinary street in the City of London is an extraordinary treasure: the remains of a Roman temple over 2200 years old.

Along with the super talented folks at Local Projects, I was part of a team tasked with bringing the temple—and Roman London—back to life. Amazing designers came up with a technique to recreate the temple using light and a new type of haze. Meanwhile, as part of the content team, I was busy interviewing renowned scholars like Mary Beard (a total dear!) and Eberhard Sauer while digging deep into the history and mythology of an obscure Roman cult. Who doesn’t love a good cult story?!

In the end, I helped write labels for the first floor object display, participated in image research and licensing, and helped design and write the content for digital touch screens that explored key objects from the temple. Design Development screenshots of those kiosks are below. Additionally, I had a hand in paper cutting the expert interviews and writing narration copy. The final narration can be played at the bottom of this page.
